Read this first! Disclaimer: This is just an exercise in editing a few stories told by real people who were in Nepal in 2001. The research was limited to interviewing people on camera to hear their opinions. Not every person in Nepal is represented in this video and it in no way represents Nepal as a whole. Also, there is Hindi Music in this piece, even though the film is was shot in Kathmandu, Nepal.

This is simply just a short student film that demonstrates some exceptions to what one would expect to find in a Hindu society. I recognize that the piece could be longer and explore some other issues further, however it is a student piece and the director had neither the time nor the budget to make a feature length version of this topic.

Nepal is a Hindu society with traditional patriarchal views. Dating openly is often times discouraged and marriages are often arranged.
